We all appear to be possessed with what is happening to the 'spare land' around here but not the ever increasing lack of respect for footpath users along Hawthorn and surrounding roads, in the fact that it is becoming increasingly difficult to pass with either a wheelchair or child's buggy due to mindless individuals insisting on abandoning their vehicles half on the footpath without access or passage available without the dangerous need to take to the road.

This reply does NOT condone "IRRESPONSIBLE PARKING", including parking on pavements and near/at road junctions, but it should be recognised that in several areas on "The Heath" parking presents difficulty for some residents who currently have no choice but to park on the highway. In doing so a "natural" traffic calming measure results which benefits all footpath/road users. Imagine the speeds on Heath Road without parking, an even more dangerous situation. Can we be sure that it is residents who carry out these acts or is it visitors? It is a shame this item was NOT brought up at the recent Public Meeting, when possible further actions could have been discussed!

Despite the 'IRRESPONSIBLE PARKING' cars still speed along Heath Rd and it does need addressing. A 20 mph speed limit would go some way to helping.
