Welcome to the discussion board of the Sandbach Heath Neighbourhood Forum.
The purpose of the Neighbourhood Forum is to bring together the people of Sandbach Heath to develop a Neighbourhood Plan for the area.
In addition to our input into decisions on any housing development – number/design of houses and how they would integrate into the existing community – the Neighbourhood Plan will consider and address the current and future development and improvement needs of this neighbourhood in terms of:
• Infrastructure improvements to existing roads • Protection and enhancement of green space and associated wildlife • Development of sustainable recreational spaces • Protection and enhancement of local schools and community buildings • Improved public transport links
This discussion board will give you the opportunity to catch up on our progress and to post your ideas, comments, opinions and suggestions and will keep you informed about any development applications.

Welcome Skeath Close - we can hear you! thanks for logging on to the board. Have you lodged your objections to the latest application for the 'Capricorn site' - 63 bed hotel, drive through cafe, offices, small industrial units and 250 houses? You can do it online through the Cheshire East Council website - go to view planning applications, the reference is 12/3948c. Please do it now! Closing date is 27th June. 2 planning applications are being heard at committee tomorrow - 50 for Hawthorne Drive and 13 for School Lane, some of our number are speaking to object. Cheers Liz

Hi, I am new to the area and a little behind all this activity. I get the gist of it and have seen the plans for this total decimation of the surrounding countryside. The question I would raise is what do we do about Eric Pickles' rubber stamp. I have seen this type of money grabbing activity in other places and have witnessed such blind decisions made by John Prescott.

HI meconfused. Not a lot we can do about Eric Pickles' decisions - in our situation this is related to the 'speculative applications' that we are being inundated with. All we can do is to get as many people as possible to object to these. The SHLAA, (Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment), is about to be challenged by a group of developers who are saying that we do not have a 5 year housing supply and that is why their applications shouldn't be challenged. Please lodge your opinions on the CEC website - Land off Old Mill Road, business park + 250 houses, Capricorn - ref: 12/3948C, closing date 27th June Old Mill Quarter, Muller, 250 houses, ref: 13/2389C
