Perhaps this is the sort of response that we would initially expect from Cheshire East. They don't want to be bothered with us. However they would not have expected the reply that they have now received from Liz.
I would like to draw everyones attention to the latest news item on the CPRE web site, "A Planning free for all, map of 20 schemes granted planning permission". 2 of these schemes are in Cheshire East.
There is a standard letter for people to send to their MP. You can add your own comments to personalise it. I urge people to take a look at the CPRE web site.

Sandbach Town Council did not fully approve the Sandbach Town Strategy. It was always a plan imposed on Sandbach by Cheshire East Council. The town council said that there should be no more than 500 new houses in Sandbach. The Sandbach Town Strategy proposals for 700 houses on Sandbach Heath came out of a small group led by Cllr Barry Moran.

Who were these other people in addition to Barry Moran who decided that Sandbach Heath should have 700 houses?
The residents should have been consulted about this decision. That would have been democracy in action, not some decision made by a few in a back room!
I am not impressed.

I think that we deserve to know why this meeting has been cancelled at such short notice. Did it really need to be cancelled. The Town Council need to account for their action.

We have recently been meeting with members from other Sandbach Action Groups to explore a 'co-ordinated' way forward. We had a meeting with Michael Jones, (who "whole-heartedly" expressed his support for a Neighbourhood Plan for Sandbach and stated that there would be "no more planning applications approved" as we have already exceeded the 1800, (actually over 2000), stated in the emerging'Local Plan' and 5 year housing supply), and Fiona Bruce MP - who assured us of her continuing support and fight against the National Planning Policy Framework, (NPPF).she is also arranging for Nick Boles to come and meet with us. Sandbach Town Council has agreed to meet with us on 17th March to discuss a Neighbourhood Plan for Sandbach, (but there is still a lot of opposition from some members).

It was very clear at the meeting with Sandbach Town Council on Monday 18th March that they are totally opposed to a Neighbourhood Plan for Sandbach - this has yet to be confirmed until their meeting on 24th April. It is very sad for Sandbach that these so-called 'democratically elected representatives' cannot see the advantages for the town in having a neighbourhood plan - developing real community involvement, protecting our important spaces and buildings, protecting us should the CEC Local Plan take time to be ratified and protecting us from further, future unwanted development.
